Storm Damage Roof Restoration

Hurricane, tropical storm, hail or high wind, ARC Roofing handles it from start to finish: inspection, emergency tarping, documentation for your insurance claim, a new or repaired roof, and restoring the inside of your home.

What to Do After a Storm Damages Your Roof

Short answer: stay safe, stop the water, document everything, then get a professional inspection before you sign anything.

  1. Stay safe. Stay off the roof and out of rooms with sagging ceilings or standing water near electrical outlets.
  2. Limit the damage. Move belongings away from leaks and catch dripping water.
  3. Take photos of damage from the ground and inside the house, including anything that got wet.
  4. Call for tarping if water is getting in. Most policies expect you to prevent further damage.
  5. Contact your insurance company to start a claim, then schedule an inspection.

Signs of Storm Damage

Missing or creased shingles, exposed nails, torn ridge caps, dents in metal roofing, gutters and vents, granules washed into gutters, fallen limbs and new water stains inside are all signs your roof needs a closer look. Some wind damage, like shingles that were lifted and resealed, is hard to see from the ground.

Beware of Storm Chasers

After big storms, out-of-town crews often go door to door. Before you sign, ask for a local address and phone number, proof of licensing and insurance, and a written estimate. Be cautious of anyone asking for large payments up front. We are a local Mobile and Baldwin County company, and we will be here after the storm has passed.
